TLSWFA is under the umbrella of the Boykins Youth Foundations, Inc., a non-profit organization aiding kids, ages 5-17 years, interested in developing athletic skills through mentorship guidance. It's founder, Chris Boykins, brings into the league professional football experience, a wealth of knowledge and a genuine love for the game as well as a heart for his people.

Take it from former, NFL football star, Derrick Harris, (RB, Rams; Chargers) who helped jumpstart the minor league. Harris says this league was none other than a, “necessity for teams throughout the southwestern region.” Harris brings his talents from the University of Miami and his NFL playing experience, as the TLSWFA Commissioner and also serves as Chairman on the Board of Directors. Harris has pulled together a few other former NFL players to help kick off this competitive-leveled league.

Spring Heat, Texas Knights, Hammond Vipers, Plaquemine Parish Broncos, Port City Monarchs
and joining us in 2009: Lake Area Panthers.
